O KAVI
Leta 2006 sta brata Asefa in Mulugeta Dukamo ustanovila Daye Bensa. Daye Bensa izvaža kavo s svoje kmetije v vasi Shantawene, pa tudi iz treh vasi Shantawene, Karamo in Bombe. Shantawene kava je poimenovana po vasi, kjer večina ljudi, med njimi veliko žensk, dela na kavni kmetiji.

Shantawene farma leži na 1.900–2.217 metrih, obrano kavo pa dostavijo tudi okoliške kmetije, ki ležijo na 2.000 do 2.400 metrov nadmorske višine. Daye Bensa ima v lasti 15 procesnih postaj v treh okrožjih, ki obdelujejo vso kavo, ki jo izvozijo. Vse kmetije so certificirane z ekološkimi certifikati in promovirajo C.A.F.E. prakso ter delajo na dodatnih certifikatih.


ABOUT COFFEE

In 2006, brothers Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo founded Daye Bensa, a coffee grower and exporter in Ethiopia. Daye Bensa exports coffee from its farm, in the Shantawene Village, as well as from “out-growers” in three villages: Shantawene, Karamo and Bombe. This Shantawene coffee is named after the village, where the majority of the people, many of them women, work on the coffee farm.

Daye Bensa is at 1,900–2,217 meters, and the delivered cherry from comes from out-growers’ farms higher up the mountain, between 2,000 and 2,400 meters. Daye Bensa owns 15 washing stations across three districts that handle all the coffee they export. All farms are certified in organic and C.A.F.E. practices and are working on additional certifications.
